Colorado Medical Solutions goes above and beyond conventional health care procedure for acute and chronic joint pain. While some doctors are quick to prescribe prescription pain pills or suggest surgery, our method leans toward the field of natural and regenerative medicine.
Regenerative medicine is a practice which involves the encouragement of the regeneration of the body’s innate body tissue. This commonly comes in the form of stem cell therapy or platelet rich plasma injections (PRP therapy). The difference between regenerative medicine and conventional medicine is the fact that pain pills or pain injections (i.e. cortisone shots) take a tole on the body and can even degenerate tissue and muscle elasticity. These are both an integral part of your long-term health.
At Colorado Medical Solutions we specialize in pain and disease management through natural treatments and are very passionate about getting to the root cause, or as close to the root cause as possible, of what ails you. The traditional healthcare model focuses on symptoms and generally only symptoms. We look at our patients like a “wilting plant” and we need to address the reason why that plant is wilting. The other model wants to simply paint the plant green with whatever medication they can paint with.
Meet Carol Van DeMore. One of our functional medicine patients was nice enough to share her experience working with us on the functional medicine side of our practice. Carol has been working with us for a little bit past a year now. Carol’s main issue was seeing conventional doctors where they just didn’t seem to help. I thought well, I think we’ll try this doctor. He does functional medicine and I think maybe this could be something for me and when they gave you the diagnosis IDs which by the way as you probably know by now, you’ve heard me talk IBS is just it’s just a list of symptoms. Right? Did they give you treatment with that one?
The doctors put Carol on prescriptions and she was on them until she started working with Colorado Medical Solutions’ functional medicine program. People are commonly confused on what could be so different about working with a functional medicine doctor as opposed to a conventional practice. Well first, what varies greatly is the testing. Functional Medicine runs a number of more in-depth testing on and it was found that Carol had something called H pylori. She had never been diagnosed and once it was discovered, no prescriptions were used.
Dr. Jones used natural herbs as part of the protocol which proved highly effective. It took a few months and we finally got that taken care of. Next was the breath test which Carol had never had with her original doctors. Even after seeing Dr. Jones, she went back to her conventional doctors and took these tests again. They kept telling her no, you don’t have i H. Pylori yet, but with Dean, It kept showing up. “Yeah, and you (Dr. Jones) noticed obviously, I think the most important thing.” Carol explains. Ultimately, we were able to get the IBS symptoms to completely subside. A test is only as good as what the results can do for you. Once we identified the bug, those IBS symptoms improved dramatically. Colorado Medical solutions was able kill the bug that Carol’s doctors had informed her she never had to begin with.
